Many of the links in the articles below have been replaced with Archive.org Wayback Machine links.
It happened again. My website has moved. This time it's Floatzel.Net. I decided it was about time for a new favorite Pokémon, and that also prompted me to move the website as well. I do hope I don't want to move my domain again. For now, however, Buizel.Net will still redirect to the new site.
Yet another new top affiliate! This time, it's The Forest Manor, a site with many tools for web layouts. Unfortunately, I had to drop several other affiliates off because their sites are gone and I cannot find them. If you are one of these sites, please send me an e-mail telling me where your new website is!
Update: I received a second affiliation request, which I promptly accepted. Today's second affiliate is Team Rango, which also has a good amount of information and videos of opening card packs.
Webmasters: I have added several new buttons to the affiliation page for those who wish to have a greater selection.
New top affiliate! Of course, it's AobaruNet, the same site that just handed me the code for the AAPA! Thanks, Aobaru-Kun. Be sure to check this site out; it has lots of great content.
After I got my Darkrai earlier today, a new shocker hit the fan at the Official Pokémon Website: ARCEUS. Yep, the Pokémon that represents God has now been revealed outside of Japan along with tip-offs on a TCG expansion and 12th movie. Arceus is also the Pokémon of the Month for August 2009.
Next, I've started a fund of sorts. If you've got some spare money and would like to watch me play Pokémon HeartGold or SoulSilver live on broadcast shortly after the Japanese release, make a donation above. The reason the goal is $75 is because of shipping and processing fees.
Finally, the new beta home page is now public and online. As it is still in its beta stage, be sure to report any problems regarding detection by sending me an e-mail.
Being obliged to Aobaru of AobaruNet, I now have a "new" section on my website, the AAPA (short for Anti-Anti-Pokémon Alliance). This section used to be hosted on AobaruNet and run by Aobaru. However, here is the text from an e-mail I received regarding it:
Due to extreme lack of interest in the AAPA, I will (sadly) be shutting it down. You should remove all my AAPA buttons, as soon I will be deleting them. Thanks for all your patience.
I replied, asking if I could host it instead, to which Aobaru agreed.
I've made a few changes to the pages. If you see any more pages that appear to be incorrectly linked, shoot me an e-mail.
Another new page is planned finished: a fan-art page.
I've been working a bit with Flash lately and have created a
few Pokémon images. This can be found on the left under Pokémon > Media > My Fanart.
The SMW guide is on pause (figures). Also, that beta homepage is just about ready for unveiling. I also did some sitely cleanup.
The SSBB and MPR galleries have been fixed up and are now full compatible with Mozilla Firefox. The images now automatically resize if you have a screen under 1024×768 to accommodate for the lesser space, so the page now works better with 800×600.
I've also started a new section of the website, a complete guide of Super Mario World.
School's out! Hopefully that means I'll be able to update more often. As for changes, I changed the title to "Explorers of Sky". I am unsure of the 'announced' release date. The Pokémon of the Month was changed to Shaymin. (I'm saving Lugia, the star of Pokémon Silver, for the release of the game.)
Something else cool is happening, though. Burger King is having another Pokémon promotion, this time for Pokémon Platinum. Hopefully, this time around, I'll be able to actually collect them all. (If you don't want to buy the kids meal, just ask for the toys. They're only a dollar each.)
Several new Mario games were also announced at the E3, including Super Mario Galaxy 2, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, and Mario & Luigi 3: Bowser's Inside Story. I hope to get those when they come out. (Well, I still have to play more of the first two Mario & Luigi games.)
As Platinum was just released in Australia and Europe, I updated the countdown for Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of the Sky.
Another new section was added. This time it is a complete listing of EVERY official Pokémon game along with titles, box art, and release data. This can be found in the "Pokémon History Museum".
You might not believe this, but (all caps) GOLD AND SILVER REMAKES HAVE BEEN CONFIRMED BY POKÉMON JAPAN!! I updated more information on the rumors page.
I added two new items. One of them is the Pokémon of the Month page, which lists all of the POTMs. The other is a poem I wrote last year, 493. I'm also working on an automatic browser/OS/screen validation for the home page, but it's still in work.
There is also a new Pokémon of the Month, but I must explain this one. It's Ho-Oh because...there might be official Gold and Silver remakes! We'll know for sure on the next episode of Pokémon Sunday (on the 10th), but there have already been plenty of hints: Johto data in DPP, references throughout the franchise lately, and even the Johto starters sitting on the poster for the 12th movie.
I added all of my game reviews to my site, which are pretty much the same as the ones I posted on GameFAQs. Happy belated Buizel Day and Floatzel Day!
Today, I did a few minor updates. The navigation bar on the left side had some issues with text sizes, especially among different computers with varying settings regarding fonts. The bar has been resized and the font size is now static, not dynamic.
In other news, I'll probably be adding all of my game reviews to the site soon!
I had a little too much fun RickRolling people by linking them to http://buizel.net/new, but I found it was actually quite an effective prank. I also added a new jukebox, which currently only has three of my songs in it. I would like to thank Flash MP3 Player for providing a free music player!
~ POKÉMON PLATINUM DAY ~
Today marks the release of Pokémon Platinum on the Nintendo DS. As soon as I pick up my reserved copy from Toys "R" Us later, I'll be playing! The countdown above has been reset to reflect the European release on May 22, 2009.
The update is COMPLETE. I have added one more affiliate and dropped a couple off. The new affiliate is Pokémon Orchestral Arrangement. The new layout, in my honest opinion, looks far nicer and more uniform than my previous mess. I'd also like to thank my friends for helping me out with this website and giving me tips.
A couple new pages were added, while several others were either revised or dropped entirely. A new feature is the Jukebox, which can be found by clicking the Jukebox link on the menu to the left. It is still in beta, so bear with any client-side glitches. I also really like the new My Music page. Another addition is the Pokémon of the Month. This month's Pokémon is Luxray because March "comes in like a lion".
ENJOY!
(POKÉMON PLATINUM IN ENGLISH IN FOUR DAYS!!)
I started watching The Speed Gamers playing a variety of different Pokémon games for ACT Today. They play the games for 72 hours straight to capture the first 491 Pokémon without trading or outside interaction. It uses the minimal number of games to obtain them all, and they all get transferred over to Pokémon Diamond. Viewers can donate money towards the cause from an embedded ChipIn donation tool. As of this update, they have been playing for about 8¾ hours, have raised $1,225, and captured 118 monsters. Join in, make a donation, talk in the chat and enjoy watching The Speed Gamers capture (nearly) all of the Pokémon!
By the way, I was mentioned at 8:31:07 with this: "Hello, Cat Triple-3 Pokémon."
Update! Even better! This site was mentioned at 9:08:30! Here is the audio file of that part of the broadcast.
I know I said I wouldn't be updating in a while, but I just had to update for these two changes. First, I added two new affiliates, Piplup Princess and Glaceon Palace. I also added a new counter up above, which will also be on my new site. It's a countdown until Pokémon Platinum is released in the United States!
Buizel.Net is undergoing some DRASTIC changes, especially in the layout!
Finally I added another Mario video, which is getting infinite lives in Forest of Illusion 1 in Super Mario Advance 2: Super Mario World. It can be found on the Mario Video page.
UPDATE NOTICE! This website will be undergoing some major updates, additions, and changes in the upcoming rest of 2008.
I have altered my affiliation scheme due to the large amount of boring websites. (I am sorry to those of you who may be offended by this.) A boring website is one that uses a lot of borrowed content from other sites, intended to cover up the fact that the main site actually has very little of its own. I have also reorganized my affiliates list, reversing the order and separating the affiliates with a lot of real content from the ones with less content. If you believe that your site has been incorrectly categorized or wish to affiliate, please send me an e-mail.
In addition to the new division, I have changed my rules for affiliation. To become a basic affiliate, the rules are still the same, but to become a top affiliate, read the revised rules. Thank you for your cooperation.
Today marks another pair of affiliates, both of which appear to be fairly new to the web and are hosted by Freewebs. Welcome, Pokemon Pwns and Tertwig Base!
A new section was created, dedicated to my cat, Patches. It's a LOLCat section, based on the popular Internet meme of the same name. If you have no idea what a LOLCat is, check out the official homepage, I Can Has Cheezburger.
This message is to say I am not dead, but rather am working on a large MIDI project, which I hope to complete before the end of the year. I've also got a new affiliate, Mario Central.
A couple small things...
First off,
I'm addicted to Pokémon Platinum! Second, I bought two games over Virtual Console:
Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels (SMB2J) and Super Mario RPG: The Legend of the Seven
Stars.
Finally, I got a new affiliate, Cyndaquazy!
TWO affiliates in one day! Pokeshore and UnitedUniverse are the pair this time! Welcome to the club!
Sorry for another long delay; Pokémon Platinum is
too awesome! (Yeah, I got that on the 15th.) Anyway, I've got a new forum, hosted on my own site
this time, which should be up to speed now. Here it is:
New Forum
I am now working on a new section of my website! It will be a greatly extended Mario Paint section!
New MIDI! It's not Pokémon, though. This time it's the Angry Video Game Nerd.
A new affiliate was added. It's a Xanga site titled Pokémon Glow & Shimmer.
FINALLY! After 17 months, Pokémon PC (formerly Pokémon Box 2) had an update! Anyone with version 1, PLEASE update to version 2.3. I have also updated the Darkrai Stories page. There is yet another new page on the site: Anti-Anti-Pokémon. It is dedicated to those in defense of Pokémon fans against haters.
New affiliate! Not only is this an awesome site, but it's actually one I've visited for many years. The site is none other than We All Live In a Pokémon World! If you support Anti-Anti-Pokémon (against those that are against Pokémon), if you have been a long-time fan of Pokémon, or if you want to read some interesting articles, go ahead and give this site a visit. I highly recommend it!
33 more My Pokémon Ranch pictures were added.
In addition, I have a little thing I'd like to say. I am NOT going to make my site look like the twenty thousand other Pokémon sites that are based on the same CSS template. To see what I am referring to, look at Serebii's design. Then, go to some of my affiliates. About 80% of general Pokémon fan sites look like that. (If you still don't know what I'm talking about, I'm referring to how it's all a design with the pair of menus on the side, the banner on every page, and exact same throughout the whole site.) I'll probably keep working on the site to make it look better and more uniform, but it most likely will not look like those. Why? To be honest, it's boring if you go from site to site and they all look very similar.
Today, I have added another affiliate! It's The Mystery Dungeon, by Joltothunder.
Awesome news! Way back in November 2006, I created a forum for my website. It didn't really kick off, so I closed it and forgot about it until now. It may still have the old site name in the URL, but I'm not about to discard a fully-functional forum and start over from scratch just to get the URL changed. Here it is: Buizel.Net Forum
Hello, everybody! FINALLY, I have added some more error messages! In addition, I have added something from the popular SMBHQ, used with permission! It's the Pokémon Fan Purity Test (based on the original Mario Fan Purity Test).
VACATION! I'm off on vacation tomorrow, so I won't be able to respond to any e-mails until the 11th or later.
ANOTHER affiliate! Welcome Treeshroud Forest, whose name is a play on the name of a location in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon 2.
New splash! As visible on the home page, I've got a new splash screen, with the font based on Grand Theft Auto and The Price is Right.
Two affiliates in one day! Char Factor is the new one, being a large fan of one of my favorites, Charizard!
Guess what? Another affiliate, this time it is Raichu203's website, Thundershock!, which can now be found in the affiliates list.
Construction complete! Turns out I'm still on the same server, just with upgraded features.
WEBSITE CONSTRUCTION NOTIFICATION
Buizel.Net will be undergoing maintenance. This may involve changing servers. The website
may go down in the following few days. Do not be alarmed, as this is normal; do not
send me messages regarding the downtime, either. Thank you.
I've spent over 70 hours this last week playing a new WiiWare game, My Pokémon Ranch. Because of the game's ability to take pictures, I have added a new section, My Pokémon Ranch Gallery (under Pokémon).
More affiliates, yay! Blaze's Fiery Mountain, which has my old favorite Pokémon (Typhlosion) at the top, has joined the group.
Guess what? Another affiliate: Eevee Club House!
I was looking at the site today and realized that the Cbox isn't that great compared to a feature that comes with my development software I used to use, Microsoft FrontPage. (Now I use Microsoft Expression Web.) The feature is a message board builder. The new message board can be found on the menu to the left or lower in the page.
As many of you probably already know, Toys 'R' Us across the United States are going to be distributing Darkrai for owners of Pokémon Diamond or Pokémon Pearl. Every copy of the game you have is eligible for a free Darkrai. The date is Saturday, May 31, and Sunday, June 1. If you would like to share your story of the event, send me an e-mail. You can read the collection of stories on the Darkrai Stories page.
Yet another affiliate! I now have Caroline's Pokemon World as an official affiliate!
Get ready for a headache. I added two new sounds, a new video, and an annoying page, which are all related to Mudkip!
Now THIS is cool! The next main-series Pokémon game,
Pokémon Platinum (ポケットモンスター プラチナ) has been announced! The official site (in Japanese) is at
http://www.pokemon.co.jp/special/platinum/
This time I've affiliated with a Buizel website, which is Buizel's Island!
Wow! I've been getting affiliates at a fast rate! Yet another Pokémon site was added, this time at Pokemon Rox!. Welcome to the group!
As you may have already noticed, the layout of this page has changed significantly, including the font and organization. I think it's nicer this way than before.
Wow! Another affiliate! It is a nice Pokémon fan fiction website, which can be found at Pokémon Fictions.
More great news! In addition to more SSBB pictures, I have yet another affiliate. This time it is Random City!
HAPPY FLOATZEL DAY!!! Today is 4/19/08 (Floatzel is #419 in the National Pokédex). Because I had some old sounds files I recorded from the animé sitting around on my hard drive, I decided to make a place for them: a Pokémon Sounds page. Hopefully, as time goes by, I will be able to add more to this page.
More great news! I officially have an affiliate. As you can see (if you have frames on) in the menu to the left, there is a new icon. This links to Salamence's Tower. Thank you, Levus, for becoming an affiliate!
Finally, I haven't really had much of any time to work on Pokémon Box 2. It's just been a project that I keep forgetting about. I REALLY want to work on it and get it up before next school year. Maybe I'll find some time.
HAPPY BUIZEL DAY!!! Today is 4/18/08 (Buizel is #418 in the National Pokédex). In honor of today, I have added some Buizel pics to the ブイゼル (Buizel) page!
I've got another treat from The Rise of Darkrai available! It's a MIDI (complete with lyrics) of We Will Be Heroes.
I've taken quite a few pictures inside of SSBB, so I have added a gallery! See it here.
I finally have Super Smash Bros. Brawl. I have added my Friend Code to the GameFAQs page. It is 0731-4763-3668.
HAPPY PI (π) DAY! Anyway, I got around to fixing up the menu to the left (in Frames mode). I hope you think it looks better now.
Now I have a real treat for you. It seems after browsing the Internet for a while, a lot of people want a MIDI for the song "Oración" from The Rise of Darkrai. So, here's a link to the page!
Well, a number of people have requested I do this, so I added download links to some of my compositions in Mario Paint Composer. Check 'em out here!
I guess it would be in my good interest to actually put a link to a page I put up a long time ago. Here's the link: GameFAQs Info. Its location is lower on this page.
Well, I've added something new to the site: an article about the story of Pokémon in the US. Read it here.
NEW DOMAIN NAME!!! Mario Minus World now has a new domain name: Buizel.Net! It should work for the next year, at least. And I've officially retired the old name. The site will no longer be referred to as Mario Minus World ANYMORE! I'll still keep up this MIDI for a while though; Bob-omb Battlefield and the credits are two of my favorite songs.
SITE MAINTENANCE WILL OCCUR THIS WEEKEND! The site may experience some downtime while it is worked on.
Okay, I added a really funny item to the Pokémon media section. It's titled "The Pokémon versus Homework" and...well, you can guess what it's about. And you can see it here.
Bui Bui! I've officially added a subtitle to the site, named after my favorite Pokémon, and I've also (actually) updated the Images page with some more of my favorites. The subtitle is "The Land of Buizel." If you're wondering who Buizel is, here's your answer:
Happy holidays and a happy New Year's! I know it's been a while, but I did get more errors! Yes, work is continuing on Pokémon Box 2. I see a release soon, but I'm not sure when. I have been quite busy. Also, there is a new moment regarding Christmas and a slew of new rumors.
I'm not dead. It's just been a while since my last update. I'll add some new errors soon.
I've got a new Turtwig video up in the Pokémon Media section.I forgot to mention this earlier, but I completed the Pokédex on July 27, 2007.
I added more Mario Paint compositions and I'm still working on Pokémon Box 2.
Another month without updates! Last week, I went to Tampa, Florida for a relative's wedding. I added two new pages: a main Mario page, and a page to host my Mario Paint compositions.
Sorry, it's been a month since I have updated. I've hit San Diego, CA for SeaWorld, San Diego Zoo, and the Wild Animal Park. I've also been playing Gran Turismo for the PlayStation and Pokémon Pearl. Coming soon: Pokémon Box 2 v2!
Finally, school's out! There are some new error messages. And I finally fixed up the Pokémon Video page to make it look like the Mario one, which needs more content. Other than that, the only real update is the Pokémon Moments page.
There are now PLENTY of new error messages (Go straight there). In addition, I added a video about how Skitty can breed with Wailord in Ruby/Sapphire and up (last video). Here is a YouTube link.
Well, I added a new moment to the Pokémon Moments page, and in Pearl my Pokédex is up to 339 caught (404 seen). Pretty soon, I'm going to be updating the error page, as I do have quite a few new error messages.
Alright, it's been a while. Pokémon Pearl kept me busy with me trying to fill the Pokédex (this will take a while). Anyway, I added a new page in the Pokémon section: "Pokémon Moments." There, you can see recent strange and weird event that have occurred recently that were related to Pokémon.
I am moving to a new development computer today and still need to install Microsoft Office and FrontPage. In addition, I am not going to be updating for a while, except for errors, possibly. Why? Because I'm picking up Pokémon Pearl tomorrow and I'm going to be playing that for a while.
I have added a link to my errors page on this page (and of course I've added errors). There were also a couple typos on the site that I found. For some reason, the news from April 8th did not appear on this page or the archive, so here it is: The Pokémon page now has a sample question from my poll and the home page now has keyword references.
The Pokémon page now has a sample question from my poll and the home page now has keyword references.
I updated the website statistics, which can be accessed from the bottom of this page. In addition, for the text portion of the links below, they now actually go to the page.
I finally fixed up the programming page with individual program pages and removed a bit of the junk. I also added my favorite error of all time to the bottom of the error page. I saw it on April 25, 2006 on a school computer that failed at startup. APRIL FOOLS!
Finally, it's Spring Break! I fixed up the Flash movie on the home page, as well as some of the elements on it. I added several more errors, including a Spanish one. The table below was added because some people don't know what the program image links to, so this shows each. And I found out that the compression problems with some of the PNG images was not from IrfanView, but from Adobe PhotoDeluxe. Just yesterday, my Nintendo Power came in and I've been anxiously awaiting Pokémon Diamond and Pearl!
technogeek00 has sent in one of the fake methods to receive Mew. Thank you.
I finally got that Flash movie on the front page! Because of a small sound conflict, I had to move the music here, to the main page. And I also found a few problems with the PNG image compressor in IrfanView, because a few computers I used as test computers showed a big black square. The images were a few error messages, now fixed (I think). E-mail me if any more errors are messed up.
The Pokémon page has had some significant updates. There is now a Pokémon fake rumors page and a page for how to get Mew...the real way! I found some old information, so expect some more updates there. I added a few more errors, as well.
You can now see site statistics, where I put some information on the statistics of the website. The link is below the hit counter. Currently, only December 2006 to February 2007 information is available.
The forum has been shut down because almost nobody used it. It may be restored if Mario Minus World becomes popular enough. I, the webmaster, did this, not Forumer. Also, try visiting this site: supermarioworld.50megs.com. This was my testing page, where I tried things out before they hit this site.
I added a links page, which can be seen near the bottom of this page. There are some of my favorite websites on the list. You can even get your own site added there! And, for once, I have fixed up the Mario video page and added 3 new videos! A few new errors were added, as well.
I noticed that the hit counter reset itself for some reason, so I added the 400 previous hits. The Pokémon page now has a link to a poll I set up.
All I did was add 13 new errors. I'm also planning on making a Flash movie to put on the home page instead of the banner above. And, a newer Mario video page. This site will slowly get more content.
Happy Valentine's Day. Anyway, I added a few more errors. And the Anything Else page was fixed up by removing all the unnecessary tables, reducing its size. So was the programming page...sorta. I still need to put a REAL table there, which should drop it size below 48 KB.
I added the frame selection page for the home page. This is for people with those browsers that don't support frames, like for cell phones, console browsers (like the PSP), and some of those freeware ones on the Internet. The next task is fixing the programming page (and sub-pages). Currently, it is a whopping 139 KB (This is annoying over dial-up!), and I am going to put a nice new table there. The same will happen to the two MIDI pages. Finally, I fixed the copyright date for Mario items (Donkey Kong Arcade, anyone?).
I have added frames and plan to leave it like this. Soon, I will add a frame selector page. You can simply director your Internet browser to http://www.mariominusworld.com/Index2.htm until then. A significant number of error messages were added, as well. I am working on a new banner for the home page, and I am still picking colors. More pages will be added later, such as Pokémon Diamond/Pearl, Pokémon Mystery Dungeon, new programs, Flash movies/games, New Super Mario Bros., Mario images, and more! Stay tuned for updates.
>>>NEW SITE UNDER CONSTRUCTION<<< The new site will use frames. I will choose a better color scheme and redesign some pages. News section added.
Google: the most popular Internet search engine! Searching for 'Mario Minus World' (no quotes) yields this site 7th on the list. "Mario Minus World" (with quotes) gets it...1st! 'MarioMinusWorld' (no quotes) yields it 3rd--but wait! The two hits higher, both from GameSpot, are my own posts on their message board!
Cats section removed due to fact that it would hardly get any hits. I also have a REAL forum, hosted by Forumer.
Mario Minus World is officially on the Web! Come all who like Mario, Pokémon, programming, or cats.
